Parallel Perspective is the executive coaching and leadership development practice founded by Andrew May, an executive coach, strategic advisor and former Chief Growth Officer with more than two decades of leadership, growth and commercial experience across PepsiCo, v2food and high-growth businesses across Asia-Pacific.
The work is built around a simple idea:
“Sometimes the biggest shift is not a new answer. It is a different perspective.”
Andrew works with senior leaders and executives who are stepping into bigger roles, navigating career or organisational change, building confidence and capability, making difficult decisions, or simply wanting the space to think more clearly about what comes next.
The work is practical, commercially grounded and tailored to the individual. Rather than applying a fixed formula, the focus is on understanding what is really going on, challenging assumptions, exploring different perspectives and turning insight into meaningful action.
Executive Coaching
Through Parallel Perspective, Andrew provides one-to-one executive coaching for senior leaders and executives who want to strengthen their leadership, decision-making, communication, confidence and performance.
Engagements range from individual sessions through to structured six and twelve-month coaching programs, depending on the level of support, focus and continuity required.
Career Transition Coaching
Career coaching and transition support is available for people considering a new role, navigating redundancy, returning to work, reassessing their direction or working out what the next chapter should look like.
The work combines reflection and clarity with practical action around positioning, conversations, networks, opportunities and how to move forward with intent.
Explore the individual coaching and career transition pathways through the Individuals page.
Executive Partnership
For senior leaders who want more ongoing access and flexibility, Executive Partnership provides a higher-touch relationship combining coaching, strategic thinking, mentoring and a trusted sounding board.
The focus can shift depending on what is happening in the business or role: a difficult decision, stakeholder challenge, team issue, career question, growth opportunity or simply the need to step outside the noise and think clearly with someone who understands both leadership and commercial realities.
It is less about following a fixed coaching program and more about having an experienced external perspective available when it matters.
Leadership Development and Organisational Support
Parallel Perspective also works with organisations through executive coaching, leadership development, workshops, facilitation and strategic advisory support.
The work can cover leadership communication, commercial thinking, career development, human behaviour, organisational change, team effectiveness and building confidence and capability in leaders.
More information about organisational work is available through the Organisations page.
About Andrew May
Andrew brings more than two decades of real-world leadership experience to the work.
Before founding Parallel Perspective, he held senior marketing, growth and commercial roles with PepsiCo across Australia and Asia-Pacific and was part of the founding team at high-growth food technology company v2food, where he served as Chief Growth Officer.
He was selected as a 2022 Scholar with The Marketing Academy and now combines that operating experience with formal executive coaching training and a strong interest in human behaviour, leadership and human potential.
That combination means the work is not just theoretical. Andrew brings the perspective of someone who has led teams, worked across functions and cultures, helped build and scale businesses, navigated change and made decisions in complex commercial environments.
Parallel Perspective is based in Sydney, with coaching delivered both in person and by video, allowing Andrew to work with clients across Australia and internationally.
Whether the challenge is a bigger role, a career decision, a period of change, a leadership issue or simply the sense that something needs to shift, the starting point is the same: get clear on what is really happening, look at it differently, and work out what to do next.
How is executive coaching different from other types of coaching?
Executive coaching is usually focused on the challenges that come with leadership, growth, change and decision-making, but that does not mean the conversation stays neatly inside work.
What is happening professionally is often connected to confidence, identity, relationships, energy, boundaries, purpose and what someone wants from life more broadly.
The work is still practical and outcome-focused, but it creates space to look at the whole person rather than just the job title. Sometimes the thing getting in the way at work is not really a “work problem” at all.
Can you work with teams or leadership groups as well as individuals?
Yes. Parallel Perspective works with individuals, teams and leadership groups, including founders and leadership teams in start-ups and scale-ups.
With teams, the work will often combine facilitation and coaching. That might mean helping a leadership group get clear on where they are going, improve communication, work through a challenge, strengthen trust, make better decisions or turn a shared vision into action.
The format can be tailored to the group, from a focused workshop or facilitated session through to a longer leadership development program with coaching built in.
Who is executive coaching suitable for?
Executive coaching can be useful for senior leaders, emerging leaders, founders, start-up and scale-up leaders, professionals in transition and people stepping into bigger roles or responsibilities.
You do not need to be struggling for coaching to be valuable. Some people use it because they feel stuck or are navigating change. Others are performing well but want to think more clearly, build confidence, improve how they lead or make better decisions about what comes next.
The common thread is usually a willingness to reflect, be challenged and take action.
